Slendertone Abs3 and the later upgrade, Slendertone Abs5 are electronic muscle stimulation devices that work to improve muscle tone and strength.
They both guarantee results after 8 weeks when used in conjunction with a healthy eating plan and other regular exercise.
With Slendertone Abs3 and Slendertone Abs5, there is no need for exhausting abdominal exercises as the Electronic Muscle Stimulation technology works to activate the body’s natural muscle movement.
This system is now used by athletes and sports therapists, as well as everyday people all over the world due to the popularity the system has gained over the years.
How it Works
Both devices work the same way with the later version offering a wider variety of settings. This device contains a battery operated control with synched wireless medical-grade gel pads. The three pads are placed onto the skin over the abdominal region, while the control allows the user to manage the intensity and type of workout.
Setup is relatively quick and easy. All that is required is for the user to insert 3 batteries, then to slide the unit into the front main belt holder.
There are several gel pads that need to be placed over metal studs to channel the flow of electricity.
The pads channel the electromagnetic currents into the muscles of the abs, causing them to contract and relax so as to simulate the muscles’ response to normal abdominal exercises.
Slendertone Abs replaceable gel pads
Although the current is powerful enough for users to feel it working, it is comfortable enough to use for most people to perform daily activities and hold a conversation.
Both Slendertone Abs 3 and 5 are FDA approved and use clinically proven, patent-pending C.S.I. (Concentrated Slendertone Innervation) technology with patented medical-grade muscle stimulation technology.
Independent clinical trials have shown the system to lead to a 72% increase in abdominal endurance.( *Clinical trial conducted by Dr. John Porcari, PH.D, University Wisconsin, La-Crosse)

Things to Note
Although the use of this belt promises great results, Ab belts are only effective when used in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular, moderate exercise.
It is designed to improve muscle tone and strength around the waist and abdominals. However, it is not designed to reduce fat around these regions or anywhere else.
Fat reduction can only be achieved through a proper diet and a variety of other exercises, including plenty of cardiovascular exercises.
It is ideal for those who need to supplement their existing workout routine or for others who have trouble performing certain abdominal exercises.
It can save time spent in the gym doing endless abdominal exercises to get the results they are after.
Which is Better
Both Slendertone Abs3 and Slendertone Abs5 have been reported and proven to work effectively, when used as directed.
Although the Slendertone Abs3 is quite effective and delivers on its promise, the Slendertone Abs5 version has a few more advantages.
First, it is more compact, and so can be worn under clothing, at work, and while out and about. This allows busy people to keep up with the programs, while leading a busier lifestyle.
It offers more settings, including another 31 intensity levels, which means it offers therapy which is more intense and thus can deliver better results sooner.
The Slendertone Abs5 also offers a wider variety of workouts, including the Two Sports Pro Crunch settings for athletes.
For those on a budget, the Slendertone Abs3 is significantly cheaper and will bring fairly good results. The Slendertone Abs5 may be almost double the price, but it offers more settings and promises more intense workouts with faster results.
